The upcoming journalistic thriller THE FIFTH ESTATE, will see Benedict Cumberbatch star as Julian Assange, the head of controversial website WikiLeaks, a site that would go on to leak free, uncensored, and often classified information. Director Bill Condon takes an objective view concerning the issues that arise in the era of readily available information, and in this latest featurette he also explains the title. Judging by the interviews present, it seems as though all the stars took this subject very seriously indeed. However, Condon also highlights that this is not a documentary and certain liberties were taken in the interests of entertainment.
THE FIFTH ESTATE is released in the UK on 11th October and in the US on the 18th October. It stars Benedict Cumberbatch, Daniel Bruhl, Laura Linney, Stanley Tucci, David Thewlis, Anthony Mackie, Peter Capaldi, and Carice van Houten.
