SONS OF ANARCHY Charlie Hunnam

British actor Charlie Hunnam has spoken for the first time about his chance to bring to life the character of Christian Grey in the FIFTY SHADES OF GREY movie, adapted from the very popular book by E.L. James. Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter at the premiere of the new season of his hit TV show Sons Of Anarchy, the Georgie actor spoke about the first time he read with actress Dakota Johnson, who plays Anastasia Steele:

“As soon as we got in the room and started reading with Dakota, I knew that I definitely wanted to do it, because there was a tangible chemistry between us,” Hunnam said. “It felt kind of exciting and fun and weird and compelling, and so that was it.”

The atcor also revealed that he went back and read the book, and isn’t afraid of the sexual content which will potetnially show up in the Sam Taylor-Johnson (NOWHERE BOY) helmed film version.

“I went and read the first book to get a clearer idea of who this character was, and felt even more excited about the prospect of bringing him to life,” he added.

“My first job was on a Channel 4 miniseries called Queer as Folk. It was incredibly explicit sexual scenes with a man.” He said: “I mean I’m 16 and 17 years wiser now. So if I could do it when I was 18 with a guy, I can certainly do it at 33 with a lady.”
