First Pictures Of Ray Winstone In ‘Moonfleet’

Sky’s new family drama Moonfleet has released its first pictures ahead of its release later this year.  The drama, based on the novel by John Meade Falkner, sees Ray Winstone star as the head of a band of smugglers who welcome new blood in the form of Welsh actor Aneurin Barnard. They are on the hunt for a precious diamond and the journey sees them venture across land and sea in a tale of adventure and friendship.

The two-part adaptation has been penned by Life on Mars and Ashes to Ashes writer Ashley Pharoah and the pictures show what’s in store as the troop set out on their adventure and also hint at the friendship that will be formed between the characters played by Barnard and Winstone.

Barnard has just been seen on our TV screens as King Richard III in BBC’s The White Queen and continues his historical roles with a part in the up-coming biography MARY QUEEN OF SCOTS.  Also up for release is family fantasy adventure flick MARIAH MUNDI AND THE MIDAS BOX where he plays the titular character alongside a cast including Michael Sheen, Sam Neill and Lena Headey.

Moonfleet also stars Ben Chaplin, Sophie Cookson, Pippa Haywood, Martin Trenaman and Omid Djalili. Take a look at the images below and look out for Moonfleet on Sky1 towards the end of the year
