THE BOY NEXT DOOR looks to be in for treat as Jennifer Lopez has signed on to play a newly divorced mother who embarks on an affair with a teenage neighbour who doesn’t take it too well when she wants to end the relationship. The thriller is the latest offering from producer Jason Blum. Blum, who recently signed a new deal with Universal, is the man behind PARANORMAL ACTIVITY which has recently announced two sequels to be released in 2014. FAST AND THE FURIOUS and STEALTH director Rob Cohen is rumoured to be taking control behind the camera.
Lopez looks to be striking more of a serious note with her project choices recently. The actress, who is best known for romantic comedies THE WEDDING PLANNER, THE BACK-UP PLAN and WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN YOU’RE EXPECTING, signed on to Chilean Miner drama THE 33 earlier this year and was last seen on the big screen alongside Jason Statham in action thriller PARKER.
The project will begin filming later this year before Lopez gets back in the judging chair for American Idol season thirteen in January.
