It has been a few weeks now since we all received word that Ben Affleck will be playing Batman in the new MAN OF STEEL sequel in 2015, and now that the dust has settled on the web from a clearly passionate loyal fanbase, we’re starting to get a little bit more information drip-fed from the folks over at Warner Brothers. Big WB CEO CEO Kevin Tsujihara has been talking to trade newspaper Variety about the casting and movie, which will apparently be called BATMAN VS. SUPERMAN (though that’s not confirmed).
“[He will be] tired and weary and seasoned and been doing it for a while,” said Tsujihara of Wayne and said Dark Knight “…We think it’s going to be huge.”
Tsujihara went on to start about the response of the fans to the news of Affleck’s involvement too.
“Ben is perfect for the vision Zack has for that character. The fact that you saw such a passionate response in the blogosphere is really kind of a testament to the love that people have for this character.”
Zack Snyder will return to direct the new movie, which will see Henry Cavill return as Superman, along with fellow MAN OF STEEL cast members in Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane. David S. Goyer is writing the screenplay.
