Earlier this year THN brought you news that Julianne Moore was being sought to star in the last of THE HUNGER GAMES movies. The rumours have now been confirmed and we can now say with certainty that Julianne Moore will star in THE HUNGER GAMES: MOCKINGJAY PART 1 and 2. With Lionsgate breaking the news it seems that director Francis Lawrence has got the President he wanted. Moore will play Alma Coin, President of the rebellion within District 13.
By casting another strong, well known and respected actor, THE HUNGER GAMES franchise seems to once again be setting itself apart from it’s TWILIGHT counterpart. It appears that this franchise is casting it’s actors for their ability to act rather than how they look. If you take a look through the various cast of each film thus far you will find several of them have been nominated for several awards with Jennifer Lawrence who plays herorine Katniss Everdeen, herself having bagged an Oscar this year. The release date for the first part is slated for 21st November 2014.
The next film in the franchise THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE is released worldwide 22nd November 2013.
