Writer of JURASSIC PARK 3 and director of award darlings THE DESCENDANTS and SIDEWAYS, Alexander Payne, has gone all colourless for his latest film, NEBRASKA. The wonderful plot centres around a man who believes he has won a million dollars and sets off to Nebraska to collect it in person. Although he is stopped by the police and his son, the entire town soon believes he has hit it rich which leads to conflicts and misunderstandings. It’s a simple plot, but one that will look at the greed of humanity, and not how money can change a person, but change those around said person.
The film looks gorgeous, with the black and white cinematography doing nothing but highlighting the cold existence that Bruce Dern’s character finds himself in. Bruce Dern went on to win Best Actor at the Cannes Film Festival. The poster and trailer both look very classical in their retro kind of way, and the images will allow you to appreciate the black and white visuals.
NEBRASKA is released in the US on 22nd November and in the UK on 6th December. It stars Bruce Dern, Will Forte, June Squibb, Stacy Keach, and Bob Odenkirk.
