New Footage Unveiled In ‘Thor: The Dark World’ & ‘Ender’s Game’ Spots!

With Marvel’s AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. breaking small-screen records, it falls on the shoulders of Chris Hemsworth to see if his hammer-swinging return in THOR: THE DARK WORLD can do the same on the silver-screen! Alan Taylor directs and here we have another new television spot featuring new footage.

Marvel’s Thor: The Dark World continues the big-screen adventures of Thor, the Mighty Avenger, as he battles to save Earth and all the Nine Realms from a shadowy enemy that predates the universe itself. In the aftermath of Marvel’s Thor and Marvel’s The Avengers, Thor fights to restore order across the cosmos…but an ancient race led by the vengeful Malekith returns to plunge the universe back into darkness. Faced with an enemy that even Odin and Asgard cannot withstand, Thor must embark on his most perilous and personal journey yet, one that will reunite him with Jane Foster and force him to sacrifice everything to save us all.

THOR: THE DARK WORLD co-stars Natalie Portman, Stellen Skarsgaard, Jamie Alexander, Kat Dennings, Tom Hiddleston, Idris Elba, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Ray Stevenson, Zachary Levi, Tadanobu Asano, Rene Russo and Anthony Hopkins. It’s released in UK cinemas 30th October and the US 8th November.

Here’s another look at the much-anticipated adaptation of Orson Scott Card’s famed 1980s children’s novel, ENDER’S GAME, which is directed by X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE’s Gavin Hood.

In the near future, a hostile alien race (called the Formics) have attacked Earth. If not for the legendary heroics of International Fleet Commander, Mazer Rackham (Ben Kingsley), all would have been lost. In preparation for the next attack, the highly esteemed Colonel Graff (Harrison Ford) and the International Military are training only the best young children to find the future Mazer. Ender Wiggin (Asa Butterfield), a shy, but strategically brilliant boy is pulled out of his school to join the elite.

ENDER’S GAME stars Asa Butterfield, Harrison Ford, Hailee Steinfield, Abigail Breslin, Ben Kingsley and Viola Davis. It hits cinemas 25th October in the UK and 1st November in the US.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
