Surprise Character To Appear In Batman Vs Superman?

Earlier this month it was revealed that Warner Bros are looking for a new  female love interest for Ben Affleck’s Bruce Wayne/Batman in the MAN OF STEEL sequel BATMAN VS SUPERMAN, well now Bleeding Cool have some new information about the casting call.

Bleeding Cool are speculating based on what they have heard that this mystery character is none other than Diana Prince AKA Wonder Woman. They say the casting call is advertising the role as a main character and the actress must be physically strong, so official stuff:

‘I can tell you that she’ll be somewhere between twenty five and thirty three – or at least leave the impression of a woman in that age range, whatever that might be.

I can tell you that she needs to be physically strong. They’re specific about that.

And I can tell you that the discussion in some agencies who have been submitting actors for this role is that they’re sending up candidates for the role of Wonder Woman. They don’t know that it’s her, it’s just become their expectation, or at least a rumour that’s coloured their conception.

Warner Bros., as you might expect, are refusing to confirm this, even to the agents they’re negotiating with.

But it seems that they’ve also failed to deny it.

That’s very interesting. And I can’t imagine many other female roles would be such a closely guarded secret’.

Well from what they say it certainly does sound like Wonder Woman but then again it could just as easily be a new character created for the film. However it’s interesting that Warner Bros haven’t confirmed or denied this story.

Introducing the character in BATMAN VS SUPERMAN before including her in the planned Justice League film would be a smart move to familiarise audiences with Wonder Woman, rather than risking a solo film that could be received negatively. Although this could also make the film convoluted and overly busy if not handled correctly which would detract from all the characters as a result.
