It’s Not Too Late For ‘Carrie’ To Repent In Latest Clip

Already today we brought you a Japanese poster and new television spot for Kimberly Pierce’s CARRIE remake, not forgetting details about five alternative endings. Now we have the second clip from Sony and Screen Gems’ contemporary take on Stephen King’s iconic tale of supernatural teen angst. Chloe Grace Moretz’s title character readies herself for that all important prom date but find her ‘gifts’ come in handy when her overbearing mother (Julianne Moore) tries to stop her.

The quiet suburb of Chamberlain, Maine is home to the deeply religious and conservative Margaret White and her daughter Carrie. Carrie is a sweet but meek outcast whom Margaret has sheltered from society. Gym teacher Miss Desjardin tries in vain to protect Carrie from local mean girls led by the popular and haughty Chris Hargenson, but only Chris’ best friend, Sue Snell, regrets their actions. In an effort to make amends, Sue asks her boyfriend, high school heartthrob Tommy Ross, to take Carrie to prom. Pushed to the limit by her peers at the dance, Carrie unleashes telekinetic havoc.

CARRIE stars Chloe Grace Moretz, Judy Greer, Portia Doubleday, Alex Russell, Gabriella Wilde, Ansel Elgort and Julianne Moore. It’s released in US theaters 18th October and the UK 29th November.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
