Ever since the sequel to MAN OF STEEL was announced as a team-up film between both Batman and Superman at San Diego Comic Con earlier this year, the film has been claiming headlines left right and centre. Between the casting of Ben Affleck as Batman, the rumoured casting of Lex Luthor and the potential appearance of Wonder Woman, the internet has been overloaded with news surrounding the highly anticipated project.

Late last month it was rumoured that Warner Bros are seeking a female lead for BATMAN VS SUPERMAN which may be the DC Comics character Wonder Woman. Well now Latino Review have an update on the casting, they have it on good authority that Warner Bros have narrowed the search down to four contenders who are unknown at this time. Here’s what they have to say on the matter:

‘Well, it’s down to not one one, or three, BUT FOUR TOP CONTENDERS for the mysterious female role.

Do I have names? Not yet. But as as soon as I do, I will update the story.

Do I think it’s Wonder Woman?

No. I put in some calls and the professionals I know that work in talent don’t think so either. They think it’s a love interest for Bruce Wayne. Could both them and I be wrong? Sure, anything is possible’.

Although Latino Review do not believe the role is for Wonder Woman they do acknowledge that Warner’s CEO Kevin Tsujihara was quoted last week stating his desire to see the character on the big or small screen. Personally I do not believe the role is for Wonder Woman either and if I had to guess I would put my money on Kara Zor-El/Supergirl because the character was referenced in MAN OF STEEL with an open pod in the kryptonian spaceship.

The Hollywood News will update you with any more news on this casting for BATMAN VS SUPERMAN.
