Just when you thought it was over, Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer, the two poorest excuse for filmmakers, are back. I’m surprised it too them this long to parody THE HUNGER GAMES, but it’s here now. Thankfully, this time it will be kept far away from the multiplex as it will be a straight-to-DVD and on demand release. To be perfectly honest, it looked as though they were staying on topic for the first half of this trailer, but then it devolves into their usual habit of cramming in non-related pop-culture references, some of which are already outdated.
Of course, it is unfair of me to judge the film based on the trailer alone, but that’s the kind of mentality that lead me to watching each and every one of Friedberg and Seltzer’s previous travesties. I’m obviously a glutton for punishment. On the plus side…wait, there isn’t one.
THE STARVING GAMES is released on DVD and On Demand on 14th November. It stars Maiara Walsh, Brant Daugherty, Lauren Bowles, and Cody Christian.
