Charlotte Riley Heads To Howard’s ‘In The Heart Of The Sea’

Rising British beauty Charlotte Riley has joined the cast Warner Bros.‘ fact-based seafaring tragedy IN THE HEART OF THE  SEA (a title which may be shortened to HEART OF THE SEA) . Oscar-winning A BEAUTIFUL MIND director Ron Howard is at the helm on the film based on the real events that inspired Herman Melville’s iconic novel ‘Moby Dick’.

Riley takes on the role of Peggy, the pregnant wife of Owen Chase (played by Howard’s RUSH lead Chris Hemsworth), one of the doomed crew members aboard the whaling ship Essex, whom after seeing their ship attacked and sunk by a sperm whale, survived for 90 days by staying afloat using broken debris, only to endure disease, starvation and eventual cannibalism.

IN THE HEART OF THE SEA will also star Brendan Gleeson, Cillian Murphy, Benjamin Walker, Ben Whishaw, Paul Anderson, Tom Holland and Cillian Murphy.
