With the DOCTOR WHO 50th anniversary fast approaching, fans were beginning to wonder when the BBC would start officially promoting the highly anticipated special episode commemorating the shows milestone year. Thankfully the BBC have now released six official images from ‘DAY OF THE DOCTOR’ which will air simultaneously around the world on 23rd November.
The episode will see Matt Smith’s eleventh Doctor and his companion Clara (Jenna Coleman) unite with David Tennant’s Tenth Doctor and his companion Rose played by returning star Billie Piper. Fans will also be treated to special guest star and film legend John Hurt (ALIEN) who will play a version of the Doctor the audience has been unaware of until his surprise appearance in this years series finale.
We can only hope the special will live up to the high expectations it has set and give fans all the thrills, nostalgia and surprises they are hoping for. So far DOCTOR WHO’s golden jubilee year has been filled with treats for fans all over the world, with a special convention being held in London to commemorate the occasion, Peter Capaldi being announced as Matt Smith’s successor and 9 previously lost episodes being re-discovered. Seeing David Tennant’s tenth Doctor return alongside Matt Smith is enough to get me excited let alone the fantastic shot of both of them alongside John Hurt’s ‘dark Doctor’, hopefully we can expect a trailer very soon with just over a month left to wait till the big day.
