Want to see more giant robots battling giant sea monsters from another dimension? If you just screamed yes to that question then you may be in luck as PACIFIC RIM director Guillermo Del Toro has confirmed he is working on a script for a potential follow-up.

Though not one of the biggest box-office smashes of the summer the film did manage to take an impressive $407 million worldwide which was over double its $190 million budget. PACIFIC RIM was one of those rare summer films of recent years that felt like an old school summer blockbuster, having a nice balance of action, story and humour which all the family could enjoy.

Although Del Toro is currently preparing a script a sequel has yet to be green-lit. The director however is positively hopeful that the studio will put their faith into another outing.
