It’s safe to say that Marvel are more successful and more popular than ever due to a recent string of both captivating and entertaining films over the past few years, which they are clearly capitalising on. Marvel Studios have now began to release two films per year as Kevin Feige, president of the company had always envisioned. This year they have released both IRON MAN 3 and THOR: THE DARK WORLD which is due for release in less than three weeks. Next Year Marvel have CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER and GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY, and that’s not including Sony’s AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 and 20th Century Fox’s X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST.
GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY is the only film on Marvel Studios’ ‘phase two’ slate that is not a sequel but an original property that most of the worldwide audience will not have previous knowledge of. The project could be considered risky due to fact that the film revolves around a green woman, a talking tree, and a talking raccoon among others. The latter will be voiced by the incredibly talented Bradley Cooper which Chris Pratt, star of the film has been recently talking about with Access Hollywood. Here’s what he had to say:
‘You think it’s a cartoon character, but it’s not, it’s a very real creature’.
‘[Rocket Raccoon has been] tortured his whole life and no one else likes him, so he’s lonely and he’s angry and it’s like, [there are] all these elements [to the character],” he continued. “You sort of forget about that, you wouldn’t think about, [and] hopefully will come to life. I think it will and that’s why they hired a really good actor to do the role.’
‘I could not be more excited that Bradley Cooper is voicing Rocket Raccoon, it’s a great character. It’s probably the best character in the movie, just because it’s not what you would expect’.
Well he certainly has me convinced and I could not be more excited for the film which has attracted a considerable amount of talent, surely meaning the script is a wild, emotional and entertaining as it should be. Head over to Access Hollywood for more on Pratt’s body transformation for the upcoming film which also stars Zoe Saldana, Vin Diesel, Karen Gillan, Michael Rooker and Benecio Del Toro.
