It was only a month ago I wrote a about Hailee Steinfeld joining the cast of Vince Vaughn’s upcoming action thriller TERM LIFE, an adaptation of the image comics graphic novel from Universal Pictures. Now comes the sad news that Universal has cancelled TERM LIFE which is a shame because it had a very promising story and it would have been nice to see Vaughn in an action thriller.
Here is the plot for TERM LIFE from First Showing:
‘The story follows a man named Nick Barrow (Vaughn) who makes his money planning heists and selling them to the highest bigger. But soon he finds himself being chased down by mobsters, assassins and corrupt cops. Thinking of his estranged daughter (Steinfeld), he takes out a million dollar insurance policy on himself, payable to her. However, thee policy doesn’t take effect for 21 days and Nick has to try and stay alive for those three weeks with his daughter by his side’.
We can only hope that another studio picks up the project as First Showing suggests due to the interesting and original plot for the film, not the mention the talented cast members it had attracted. Still its not all bad for Vaughn as another of his projects BUSINESS TRIP, is moving forward quickly with June Diane Raphael joining the cast that already includes the legendary Tom Wilkinson. Here is the brief synopsis for BUSINESS TRIP from THE PURSUIT OF HAPPYNESS writer Steve Conrad:
‘BUSINESS TRIP follows an Midwestern American businessman who takes his team on a trip to Europe where everything can and does go wrong as they try to gain a big contract’.
Lets hope Vaughn’s luck improves for his upcoming film slate as both of these projects sound like they have great potential. In the mean time check back with us for more updates on Vince Vaughn, TERM LIFE and BUSINESS TRIP.
