Gleefully Bloody Posters For History’s ‘Bonnie & Clyde’ Mini-Series

Arthur Penn’s 1967 seminal gangster classic BONNIE & CLYDE is one of my own favourite films with Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway on top form as the infamous outlaw lovers. However, it will aways be remembered as the film that made a star of the legendary Gene Hackman as Clyde’s brother Buck, who scored his very first, well-deserved Oscar nomination. It’s taken close to twenty years (a 1992 TV movie the only previous adaptation) but we’ll soon see the events of the couple’s four-year killing and robbing spree depicted in an epic mini-series from The History Channel.

Emile Hirsch leads the true story of Clyde Barrow, a charismatic convicted armed robber who sweeps Bonnie Parker (Holliday Grainger) an impressionable, petite, small-town waitress, off her feet. It’s a fearsome combination as couple embark on one of most infamous bank-robbing sprees in history.

Here we have two gleefully, blood-spattered character posters from the two-part series airing in December.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
