Whilst Disney’s digitally animated features such as BOLT and TANGLED have never reached the heights of films released under their Pixar label, this years WRECK-IT RALPH showed audiences that they can match the quality of Pixar films such as TOY STORY and FINDING NEMO.
Despite Disney’s loss earlier this year with THE LONE RANGER, they still have multiple Marvel releases coming up including this months THOR: THE DARK WORLD, as well as more Pixar features and another installment in the lucrative PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN franchise. FROZEN is Disney’s next animated feature which will be released this winter, no doubt with the hopes of recapturing the success of WRECK IT RALPH which earned an academy award nomination. The TV spot features the new song ‘Let it Go’ by Demi Lovato which should appeal to the films’ target demographic. Here is the synopsis for FROZEN:
‘When a prophecy traps a kingdom in eternal winter, Anna (Bell), a fearless optimist, teams up with extreme mountain man Kristoff (Groff) and his sidekick reindeer Sven on an epic journey to find Anna’s sister Elsa (voice of Idina Menzel), the Snow Queen, and put an end to her icy spell. Encountering mystical trolls, an amazing and comedic snowman named Olaf, Everest-like conditions and magic at every turn, Anna and Kristoff battle the elements in a race to save the kingdom from destruction’.
