It’s that time of the year, the nights are drawing in, the weather is getting colder and all you want to do is settle on the sofa and veg-out on television. But what to watch? If you’re at a loss then LoveFilm may have just brought you the answer.
Crossing Lines is written and produced by the man behind popular show Criminal Minds, Edward Allen Bernero. The show stars a range of international talent including Tom Wlaschiha (Game Of Thrones), William Fitchner (Prison Break) and screen legend Donald Sutherland (DON’T LOOK NOW).
Based in part on the International Criminal Court, the show follows a highly skilled team from across the globe as they work together to solve all manner of international crimes. The brilliant Fitchner takes centre stage as Carl Hickman.
The pilot episode introduces Hickman, an ex-detective who, after an injury in the line of duty, has relocated to Amsterdam. Whilst working at a carnival he is headhunted for a new organisation by an ex-colleague. Once Hickman is onboard the rest of the team is introduced, each individual is at the top of his or her respective fields, and they must work together to solve a string of murders that span numerous countries.
The character of Hickman is the archetypal dark hero, however what sets Crossing Lines apart from other programmes within the cop drama genre is that all of the characters are as flawed as one another. The show’s producers have promised that all the characters have dark secrets and vices, which will be unveiled as the show progresses.
The shows first season has already aired in America and most of Europe, and has been well received, with a second season being filmed at the moment. After the success of shows such as Vikings and Copper Amazon’s LoveFilm have decided to give Crossing Lines a UK home on their website.
