Awesome ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’ Trailer Storms Online!

While some of us lucky folks at THN managed to catch it during San Diego Comic Con in July, we can now showcase the first trailer for Marvel’s “political thriller”, CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER. While I enjoyed the first film to feature Chris Evans’ genetically-modified super soldier Steve Rogers, I wasn’t blown away. However, this looks altogether different affair with a paranoid plot said to be inspired by the 1970s classic sub-genre. One that’s right up my explosive street with Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow and Samel L. Jackson’s Fury being pivotal as opposed to eye-candy and cameoing!

After the cataclysmic events in New York with The Avengers, Marvel’s “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” finds Steve Rogers, aka Captain America, living quietly in Washington, D.C. and trying to adjust to the modern world. But when a S.H.I.E.L.D. colleague comes under attack, Steve becomes embroiled in a web of intrigue that threatens to put the world at risk. Joining forces with the Black Widow, Captain America struggles to expose the ever-widening conspiracy while fighting off professional assassins sent to silence him at every turn. When the full scope of the villainous plot is revealed, Captain America and the Black Widow enlist the help of a new ally, the Falcon. However, they soon find themselves up against an unexpected and formidable enemy—the Winter Soldier.

CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER is directed by Anthony and Joe Russo from a screenplay by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely. It co-stars Sebastian Stan, Cobie Smulders, Frank Grillo, Emily VanCamp, Hayley Atwell, Robert Redford, Toby Jones, Maximiliano Hernandez and hits cinemas 4th April 2014. Don’t forget to check out the latest super cool poster and stills, if you haven’t done already!

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
