With all the speculation surrounding the upcoming BATMAN VS SUPERMAN from DC Entertainment and Warner Bros, it’s difficult to keep track of all the rumours circulating the sequel to this years MAN OF STEEL.
Whether it’s discussion of which characters will appear in BATMAN VS SUPERMAN or which actors will portray them, the film has certainly been a hot topic since its announcement. With all this in mind its easy to forget that with Ben Affleck’s new interpretation of Bruce Wayne/Batman will come a new Wayne mansion, Alfred and most importantly a new Batmobile. A new report is claiming that Ben Affleck’s new ride could come in the form of an ‘old cadillac’ which would be drastically different from the tank-like vehicle seen in Christopher Nolan’s DARK KNIGHT trilogy. Here is the report from Batman-on-film:
‘The Batmobile is currently being designed and built by General Motors at the GM Advanced Design Studio in North Hollywood. This is the same team who most recently designed and built the vehicles for TRANSFORMERS 4with Michael Bay – who was very hands-on and involved in the design/building process for the new Bumblebee Camaro. Anyway, back to the new Batmobile…
It will definitely NOT have a military look like The Tumbler from [Chris] Nolan’s ‘Dark Knight Trilogy.’
As of about four weeks ago, it was still “pictures on the wall” – meaning nothing had actually been built yet.
An “old Cadillac” will feature prominently in the film. When I remarked to my source that the Cadillac Sixteen concept car from a few years back looked a lot like a Batmobile, he stayed mum.
Now this is pure speculation on my part, but I wonder if this ‘old Cadillac’ be the new Batmobile? Perhaps one is being retrofitted to be Batman’s ride in BATMAN VS. SUPERMAN? ‘
This makes me think that maybe Warner Bros and Zack Snyder are going with a more traditional interpretation of Batman similar to Tim Burton’s version of the character played by Michael Keaton. As always we’ll update you with any more news on BATMAN VS SUPERMAN.
