The sequel to 2004s quotable cult classic will see San Diego’s finest band of journalists head to the Big Apple in an effort to resurrect their fading careers, only to come up against the rising tide of change during the 1980s. After have having to contend with females having a place in their profession, the recent hilarious trailer suggests this time they’re struggling with race equality and homosexual acceptance.
With the 70?s behind him, San Diego’s top rated newsman, Ron Burgundy (Will Ferrell), returns to the news desk in “Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues.” Also back for more are Ron’s co-anchor and wife, Veronica Corningstone (Christina Applegate), weather man Brick Tamland (Steve Carell), man on the street Brian Fantana (Paul Rudd) and sports guy Champ Kind (David Koechner) – All of whom won’t make it easy to stay classy…while taking the country’s first 24-hour news channel by storm.
We’ve also included the US poster and trailer which has alternative opening to the international trailer we showcased earlier in the week. Adam McKay returns to write and direct with the film co-starring Kristen Wiig, James Marsden, Dylan Baker, Greg Kinnear and Harrison Ford. It opens in the US and the UK on 20th December 2014.
