Fox has taken another comedy from a strong female writer, as it was revealed today that the network has put Kelly Oxford’s comedy into development.
The show, which is currently untitled, is based on Oxford’s time she spent working in a retirement home, and centres around a 30-year-old mum who runs the activities department of the home. This isn’t the first time that Oxford has had a script picked up, she sold a script based on her family life to CBS, and Warner Bros picked up her feature comedy spec SON OF A BITCH last year.
Kelly Oxford made an unusual burst into the scene by becoming the first prominent “Twitter celebrity”, her 140 characters of life and tales of her family led her to get 550,00 followers, and go on to become a best selling author with her debut “Everything Is Perfect When You’re A Liar“.
