You saw him earlier on this year in the very lackluster A GOOD DAY TO DIE HARD, one of my worst movie experiences of the year, if not my entire life, and you will see him in the early part of 2014 in the new young adult blockbuster-wannabe DIVERGENT, but Jai Courtney is piling up the projects, and according to Deadline, has signed for two new high-profile movies.
Courtney has signed on the dotted line to star in Angelina Jolie’s directorial effort UNBROKEN, which revolves around former WWII prisoner of war and Olympic star Louis Zamperini. Courtney will apparently play Hugh ‘Cup’ Cuppernell, a WWII veteran pilot who ‘gets caught in tenacious midair gunfight alongside Zamperini.’ The lead in that film will be played by Jack O’Connell.
As well as that, Courtney will also feature in Russell Crowe’s directorial debut THE WATER DIVINER, which is about an ‘Australian man who travels to Turkey to attempt to locate the bodies of his three sons, who were killed there during WWI.’ Courtney will play the character, Lt-Col Cecil Hilton, who organises the mission. Crowe and Olga Kurylenko also star.
Courtney also has the Joel Edgerton written piece FELONY waiting in the wings, which debuted at last month’s Toronto International Film Festival.
