Those awaiting for a return to Middle-earth will finally get their chance when the second in Peter Jackson’s prequel trilogy, THE HOBBIT: THE DESOLATION OF SMAUG, thunders into cinemas this December. The reluctant title character of Bilbo Baggins (Martin Freeman) will lead the journey, alongside the Wizard Gandalf (Ian McKellen) and thirteen Dwarves warriors, led by Thorin Oakenshield (Richard Armitage), on an epic quest to reclaim the lost Dwarf Kingdom of Erebor. Of course, they’ve a small matter of a deadly fire-breathing dragon to contend with first. Will they all make it?
Also, why not get involved in the awesome worldwide event taking place on the 4th November. Find details HERE!

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
