With the film now in UK cinemas, we can now judge if the wait (and the struggles behind-the-scenes) was worth it in regards to the hammer-swinging Asgardian’s return (read our review HERE). Chris Hemsworth reprises his role as the hulking heroic warrior Thor in Marvel’s sequel THOR: THE DARK WORLD. We’ve another couple of new television spots for the film still set to hit the US on the 8th November and directed by Alan Taylor.
Marvel’s “Thor: The Dark World” continues the big-screen adventures of Thor, the Mighty Avenger, as he battles to save Earth and all the Nine Realms from a shadowy enemy that predates the universe itself. In the aftermath of Marvel’s “Thor” and “Marvel’s The Avengers,” Thor fights to restore order across the cosmos…but an ancient race led by the vengeful Malekith returns to plunge the universe back into darkness. Faced with an enemy that even Odin and Asgard cannot withstand, Thor must embark on his most perilous and personal journey yet, one that will reunite him with Jane Foster and force him to sacrifice everything to save us all.
THOR: THE DARK WORLD co-stars Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, Stellan Skarsgaard, Idris Elba, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Tadanobu Asano, Jamie Alexander, Ray Stevenson, Zachary Levi, Rene Russo and Anthony Hopkins. It’s released in UK cinemas today and the US 8th November.
Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
