This year’s South African thriller INUMBER NUMBER, which is still yet to receive a release in the US or UK, has already been tipped for a remake. Universal Pictures have acquired the rights to Donovan Marsh’s thriller, which sees an undercover cop planning a heist against his corrupt superiors. He infiltrates a gang with the hope of taking the money for himself, without alerting the gang to the fact he is also a cop. Sounds brilliantly thrilling in a heist twist on undercover cop movies, but personally I’d like to see the original given a wider release before talk of a remake. Although no cast or crew have been attached to the project at the moment, the original writer and director Marsh, is not planning on getting involved.
