Is Justin Timberlake’s latest project SPINNING GOLD going to get a decent director? Possibly! Rumours have surfaced that Spike Lee is in early negotiations to direct the Neil Bogart biopic.
SPINNING GOLD, written by Bogart’s son Tim Bogart, tells the story of the 1970s record executive and creator of Casablanca Records who’s roster included such artists as KISS and Donna Summer. The film will tell a rags-to-riches type story following Bogart as a poor kid from Brooklyn to one of the pioneers of pop music. He passed away aged 39 from cancer.
As well as producing the project, Timberlake has been attached to star as Bogart since 2011. If Spike Lee does agree to direct the project, it will join his other projects including his kickstarter project.
