Over the past couple of days there have been some very strong rumours suggesting that THOR: THE DARK WORLD star Jaimie Alexander is set to don a tight pair of pants and headband to play the DC character of Wonder Woman in a new movie. The actress plays the character of Sif in the THOR movies, but could we soon be seeing her switch from Marvel to DC for a new outing for the female superhero, or even an appearance in the MAN OF STEEL sequel, BATMAN VS. SUPERMAN. After all, filmmakers did put out a casting call for a female lead last month.
The rumours stemmed from Batman-News.com who picked up that Alexander was ‘quoted’ in saying at a comic convention in the US that she’s been having conversations with Warner Bros., and that she knows a thing or two about BATMAN VS. SUPERMAN. While those rumours were vague, Forbes picked up on the story and managed to get the star to open up some more.
“I’m a huge fan of Wonder Woman. I really think if this is the closest that we’re ever going to get to Wonder Woman, then I’m proud to play Sif. I hope that other comic book entities can learn a lesson from Marvel in how to execute a female character the way it should be done….I really would like to one day see a Wonder Woman film or Wonder Woman character, but until it’s done with class, I’d rather it not be done.”
Alexander had earlier picked up on/ retweeted a fan-made poster on Twitter, which couldn’t have helped with speculation on her involvement. What do you all think? Would she make a good Wonder Woman? We are saying yes!
