His crazy JACKASS spin-off BAD GRANDPA is doing surprisingly well at the box-office, however, documentarian Jeff Tremaine is now set to move onto a standard narrative form of filmmaking with a music biopic.

After years of following pranksters on the MTV series and subsequent big-screen entries, Tremaine will follow them up with a look at the notorious 1980s rockers Mötley Crüe. DIRT has been in the works for quite sometime but the adaptation, based on the shocking tell-all book The Dirt: Confessions Of The World’s Most Notorious Rock Band, written by the band alongside author Neil Strauss, now looks to be moving forward with a director in place.

The lives of Tommy Lee, Nikki Sixx, Vince Neil and Mick Mars will be laid bare. Looking at their infamous drink, sex and drug-fuelled scandals while on the road (and off). Tom Kapinos is currently working on the script for the film set to shoot early next year. Don’t be surprised to see a number of Jackass boys in the cast.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
