TWILIGHT alum Kristen Stewart has reportedly joined the cast of indie drama ANESTHESIA.
Tim Blake Nelson (director of LEAVES OF GRASS and star of O BROTHER, WHERE ART THOU?) will direct the project, which will focus on an ensemble cast playing a group of New York natives whose lives are changed by a philosophy professor. As far as we know Stewart will be a member of that group, taking on a smaller role compared to some of her most recent work. Not much else is known about the film at this time.
I’m a little on the fence when it comes to Kristen. Although she’ll be forever tied to the teen vampire sensation that was TWILIGHT, she’s proved herself in features like ADVENTURELAND. However, bad publicity will follow you for eternity, so she’ll have to work extra hard to gain that media respect again.

Hmmm, she doesn’t have millions of fans, that’s evidenced by her box office stats, perhaps if she was respected by the media and the general public then her films would do better. She has a shitty attitude and now a reputation for sleeping with directors, she has no class and some would argue no acting ability.

I think some are just immature but most of her fans have understood the article. Everyone is hoping that she has the respect she had when she made her indies. However, I think that with its new projects will demonstrate her talent.

I’m all for giving any actor a chance but, saying that, On The Road was pretty average from all BUT she was all right – as were the rest!
Kinda disappointed by that film generally!

I’m sorry if I’ve offended anyone, but I will not stand being called a ‘shit eater’ or ‘mindless asshole’. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, which is obvious through some of these comments – but I am neither of these, believe me. The whole point of The Hollywood News is that we post current film news…with our opinions, and I’ve stated mine.
Kristen is a good actress when she picks the right project, but as others have said her personality puts people off. The media has torn her to pieces because of her actions; they do it to everyone who does the same thing.
