‘Savage’ Comic Book Adaptation Headed To The Big Screen

Savage

Just when you thought that there couldn’t possibly be any more films or television series’ based on werewolves, the obscure Shadowline/Image Comics graphic novel SAVAGE may be headed to the big screen.

SAVAGE revolves around a mysterious man who spends his nights hunting down supernatural creatures before he becomes caught in the middle of en epic battle between Big Foot and a pack of werewolves. The comic was created by Jeff Frank and illustrated by brilliant X-MEN artist Mike Mayhew, which at least draws some visual comparisons with the world famous Marvel team. The film and television rights to the property were recently acquired by Outlier and brand new production company Pathbender. Thompson, as well as John Adams and Mark Morgan (THE TWILIGHT SAGA).

Also, genre mash-ups are normally the bread and butter of low budget direct-to-DVD productions; after all, COWBOYS AND ALIENS failed to make an impact with critics and audiences at the box office. If done correctly SAVAGE could prove to be an entertaining film that defies expectations and is praised for its light-hearted action and visuals, but we’ll see…
