With a new TERMINATOR trilogy on the way – at least the first is expected to be directed by THOR: THE DARK WORLD’s Alan Taylor – casting for the lead roles is about to begin for the film set for cinemas summer 2015. The producers behind the time-travelling reboot/sequel are said to already be eying their potential leads for the hunted Sarah Conner and the future rebel leader John. These names hint at a crossover timeline as the names being mentioned for mother and son are close in age…
Emilia Clarke (Game of Thrones), Brie Larson (SHORT TERM 12) and Margot Robbie (THE WOLF OF WALL STREET) are all being considered for the role of the female lead targeted for the Skynet cyborg assassin, having previously played by Linda Hamilton on the big-screen. Also, Boyd Holbrook (Hatfields & McCoys) and Garrett Hedlund (TRON: LEGACY) are rumoured for the short list of names being considered for John.
Taylor recently suggested if he was offered the job he wouldn’t do it without the inclusion of original star Arnold Schwarzenegger. The Austrian Oak is expected to feature somewhere in the plot.
