First ‘Star Wars: Episode VII’ Character Confirmed!

Brace yourselves: Bad Robot just tweeted a picture of STAR WARS: EPISODE VII director J.J. Abrams with a returning character from the prequels and original trilogy, seemingly confirming its appearance in the new batch of films.

No prizes for guessing which one though, as it will come as a huge surprise to exactly zero people that the legendary astromech droid R2-D2 will be making an appearance in the new trilogy, presumably alongside his golden partner-in-crime C-3PO whom he is rarely seen without.

Check out the original tweet below and let us know in the comments who else you’d like to see return to STAR WARS: EPISODE VII.

STAR WARS: EPISODE VII is directed by J.J. Abrams and is due for release on December 18th, 2015.
