The Heavens Open As Aronofsky’s First ‘Noah’ Trailers Flood In

I’m not a believer in any religion but do admit I do love the odd adaptation from the sweeping tales of ‘The Good Book’. The past few days we’ve been teased with snippets of footage and an impressive first poster for writer/director Darren Aronofsky’s biblical epic NOAH, which were all leading up to this first full trailer debut.

Oscar-winning Australian legend Russell Crowe leads as the title character in a close adaptation of the story of doing the Lord’s duty with a divine mission to build an Ark and saving creation from the oncoming flood. NOAH and his family must survive forty days and forty nights while God sends in the waters to cleanse a world ravaged by human sin… A bit harsh me thinks!

We’ve also included the alternative US trailer as it has a little extra footage!

Aronofsky’s visionary epic, which he co-wrote alongside Ari Handel and John Logan, co-stars Jennifer Connelly, Emma Watson, Ray Winstone, Logan Lerman, Douglas Booth and Anthony Hopkins. It’s set to sail into cinemas from the 28th March 2014.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
