Lengthy New Spots & Clip For All-Star Crime Thriller ‘Out Of The Furnace’

Following last weeks first intense clip, we’ve another from writer/director Scott Cooper’s brutal revenge thriller OUT OF THE FURNACE. One that sees Christian Bale’s Russell Baze reunited with brother Rodney (Casey Affleck) following a stint in prison. In addition we’ve two brand new television spots, with one that almost acts like a brand new trailer, from Cooper’s first follow-up to his Academy Award-winning directorial debut CRAZY HEART.

From Scott Cooper, the critically-acclaimed writer and director of Crazy Heart, comes a gripping and gritty drama about family, fate, circumstance, and justice. Russell Baze (Christian Bale) has a rough life: he works a dead-end blue collar job at the local steel mill by day, and cares for his terminally ill father by night. When Russell’s brother Rodney (Casey Affleck) returns home from serving time in Iraq, he gets lured into one of the most ruthless crime rings in the Northeast and mysteriously disappears. The police fail to crack the case, so—with nothing left to lose—Russell takes matters into his own hands, putting his life on the line to seek justice for his brother.

OUT OF THE FURNACE co-stars Woody Harrelson, Forest Whitaker, Willem Dafoe, Sam Shepard and Zoe Saldana. It’s released in the US on the 6th December and the UK 31st February 2014.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
