ItsAWondrflLife_146Pyxurz

With the season of good cheer creeping ever closer, this news of this sequel may not come as much of shock despite coming almost 60 years too late. Yes, you read that title right. Frank Capra’s magical 1946 Christmas classic IT’S A WONDERFUL LIFE, which was led by Hollywood great Jimmy Stewart, it to get a follow-up film.

The grandson of Stewart’s George Bailey (also named George Bailey) will be the focus this time around as he’s apparently some sort of sourpuss. Returning from the original film is the actress who played Bailey’s daughter Zuzu. Karolyn Grimes has signed on to play an angel sent to advise and guide the new George in the error of his ways. It currently has a title of IT’S A WONDERFUL LIFE: THE REST OF THE STORY and is written by Bob Farnsworth and Martha Bolton.

Is nothing sacred? What do you guys think of this sequel? As ever let us know and we’ll keep you posted on more potential casting.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
