Henry Cavill Talks Ben Affleck’s Casting As Batman & Future Antagonists

While I personally loved Zack Snyder’s modern day reinvention of the Superman legend in MAN OF STEEL, it certainly divided fans and critics alike and the film’s controversial ending is still a strong topic of discussion even now. However one aspect of the Superman reboot that went down well extremely with audiences and critics was Henry Cavill’s new take on the character, which cemented his place in the superhero history books along with the likes of Christopher Reeve, Christian Bale and Robert Downey Jr.

When MAN OF STEEL destroyed the box office and went on to gross almost $700 million worldwide (which is brilliant for any film let alone a reboot), a sequel was quickly announced for 2015 that would pit both Superman and Batman together. In August, it was announced that Ben Affleck will play the upcoming sequel’s new interpretation of The Caped Crusader, a mere three years after Christopher Nolan’s closing chapter of his DARK KNIGHT trilogy. This was another decision that caused uproar among the moviegoers, although I strongly believe Affleck will give audiences a fresh and compelling interpretation of Batman that will be unlike any previous versions of the character we have seen.

Now Henry Cavill has voiced his opinions on the casting of his future co-star that he will soon be going toe-to-toe with in BATMAN VS. SUPERMAN, check out what he had to say in the video below:

Cavill speaks kindly and professionally as a true gentleman towards Affleck and displays enthusiasm and excitement that should be shared by all. Below, he also talks about what we may expect from the follow-up film and who he would love to see feature as a villain.

The film will be released 15th July 2015 and of course stars Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Amy Adams, Diane Lane and Lawrence Fishburne.
