‘The Wolf Of Wall Street’ Is On The Hunt In New Posters

Oscar-winning filmmaker Martin Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio’s reuniting has sparked suggestions the duo may well be the team to beat during the upcoming awards season. THE WOLF OF WALL STREET, and particular DiCaprio, received a standing ovation at a recent press and industry screening. The three-hour film is Scorsese’s longest of his esteemed career and despite strong scenes of nudity, drug taking and outright craziness (only just scraping through with an R-rating), seems to have gone down well with most of those who have a say in where the awards will be going.

THE WOLF OF WALL STREET is adapted by Terrence Winter of the same-titled biography of Jordan Belfort. He was a rising young financial hot-shot in the 1990s, whose hard partying lifestyle and excessive drug abuse saw him escalating towards money laundering and security fraud that ultimately led him being sent to prison in 1998.

The film co-stars Jonah Hill, Kyle Chandler, Matthew McConaughey, Jean Dujardin, Margot Robbie, Jon Bernthal and Rob Reiner. It’s set for US cinemas from the 25th December and the UK 17th January 2014.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
