Warner Bros and Zack Snyder have confirmed they have found their Amazonian Princess. After months of speculation (and countless beauties name checked), they have announced Gal Gadot will take the role of Wonder Woman in the still-untitled MAN OF STEEL sequel, which will pitt Henry Cavill’s Kal-El against Ben Affleck’s Dark Knight. It will be the first time the DC character, also known as Diana Prince, will have been portrayed on the big screen.

Director Zack Snyder stated:

“Wonder Woman is arguably one of the most powerful female characters of all time and a fan favorite in the DC Universe. Not only is Gal an amazing actress, but she also has that magical quality that makes her perfect for the role. We look forward to audiences discovering Gal in the first feature film incarnation of this beloved character.”

The rising Israeli-born actress is perhaps best known for her role in action sequels FAST & FURIOUS 4, 5 and 6.

Does she fit the role? Do let us know!

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.

I was hoping for someone a little older and less skinny but I bet she’ll do fine. She’s gonna have to pump some serious iron, though, if she wants to be believable as a mighty warrior princess.

Wouldn’t Katy Perry look more like Wonder Woman?
