This Thursday sees the long-awaited release of the first trailer for director Marc Webb’s THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2. The film will see our heroic web-slinger take on the electrifying villainy of Jamie Foxx’s Max Dillon, while also introducing a number of the Sinister Six, Paul Giamatti’s Russian mobster Aleksei Sytsevich (aka The Rhino), Dane DeHaan/Chris Cooper’s Green Goblin(s), who are also expected to return for future instalments .
We have the following brand new official synopsis as well as look that earlier triptych poster. In addition, we also have five brand new stills with a couple featuring Spidey battling his new nemesis.
We’ve always known that Spider-Man’s most important battle has been within himself: the struggle between the ordinary obligations of Peter Parker and the extraordinary responsibilities of Spider-Man. But in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Peter Parker finds that a greater conflict lies ahead.
It’s great to be Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield). For Peter Parker, there’s no feeling quite like swinging between skyscrapers, embracing being the hero, and spending time with Gwen (Emma Stone). But being Spider-Man comes at a price: only Spider-Man can protect his fellow New Yorkers from the formidable villains that threaten the city. With the emergence of Electro (Jamie Foxx), Peter must confront a foe far more powerful than he. And as his old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, Peter comes to realize that all of his enemies have one thing in common: OsCorp.
THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 will swing into UK cinemas from 18th April and the US on the 2nd May 2014. It stars Andrew Garfield, Jamie Foxx, Emma Stone, B.J. Novak, Denis Leary, Sally Field, Martin Sheen, Chris Zylka, Dane DeHaan, Colm Feore, Marton Csokas, Felicity Jones, Chris Cooper, Paul Giamatti and Sarah Gadon.
Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
