Yes, fans of the friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man can breath a sigh of relief. The first full trailer has swung in for Sony’s sure-to-be action-packed sequel to Sony’s 2011 reboot of the Marvel comic-book icon. Marc Webb returns to the helm for THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2, which will see Peter Parker settling into his new costume while having to contend with primary villain Max Dillon ( better known as Electro). However, with OsCorp looming over the future of the franchise, expect the billion dollar company to play a pivotal role in the introduction of further villainous figures.
We’ve always known that Spider-Man’s most important battle has been within himself: the struggle between the ordinary obligations of Peter Parker and the extraordinary responsibilities of Spider-Man. But in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Peter Parker finds that a greater conflict lies ahead.
It’s great to be Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield). For Peter Parker, there’s no feeling quite like swinging between skyscrapers, embracing being the hero, and spending time with Gwen (Emma Stone). With the emergence of Electro (Jamie Foxx), Peter must confront a foe far more powerful than he. And as his old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, Peter comes to realize that all of his enemies have one thing in common: OsCorp.
THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 will swing into UK cinemas from 18th April and the US on the 2nd May 2014. It co-stars Emma Stone, B.J. Novak, Denis Leary, Sally Field, Martin Sheen, Chris Zylka, Dane DeHaan, Colm Feore, Marton Csokas, Felicity Jones, Chris Cooper, Paul Giamatti and Sarah Gadon.
