Details on the forthcoming new TERMINATOR film suggested it was going for the reboot route as opposed to another sequel. While Arnold Schwarzenegger remains attached to the film, recasting roles for Sarah Connor and time-travelling protector (and impregnator) Kyle Reese may hold clues to the new direction for the Skydance and Annapurna Pictures production of the classic James Cameron-creation. THOR: THE DARK WORLD’s Alan Taylor is set to direct the sci-fi epic, with Emilia Clarke and Brie Larson said to be the final two remaining and fighting it out for the role of unborn resistance leader’s hunted mother.
We’re now hearing Taylor’s sequel/reboot has an official title of TERMINATOR: GENESIS as well as a brand new series not connected to the cancelled Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. The new show will be used as a tie-in to the upcoming film and will split the timeline of the 1984 original film in a way to connect and flow as a brand new story. This will also allow it to distance itself from McG’s much-maligned TERMINATOR: SALVATION.
THOR and X-MEN- FIRST CLASS scribes Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz (who also worked on the previous spinoff series) have been hired to pen the screenplay with Megan Ellison, David Ellison producing the series alongside Dana Goldberg and Marcy Ross. Laeta Kalogridis and Patrick Lussier will also serve as executive producers.
TERMINATOR: GENESIS is scheduled for a release 1st July 2015. Expect the untitled series to air late 2014/early 2015.

MEEEEEEHHHHH Some nerve trying to set up another series, they should’ve just continued with Sarah Connor Chronicles, I loved that series! Not to mention they kept everyone hanging on that amazing and interesting Season 2 finale cliffhanger.
As for possibly rebooting the movies? Heads must roll.

I liked it too.
In fact, I enjoyed Salvation more than Terminator 3, which was basically a rehash of T1 and T2.

I really like when that super tall Harvester Terminator was able to sneak up and grab those all those humans. I mean that thing was quieter than a mouse!

Terminator 2 is one of my favorite film ever, but if I started disecting its flaws, it would sound like a crap film, at least on paper.
So yeah, pointing towards the plot holes and inconsitencies doesn’t necessarily means a movie is bad – every movie has flaws.
Terminator Salvation is miles behind T:2 for different reasons.
