Last week, we finally had the confirmed release schedule for Lars Von Trier’s controversial and kinky two-part drama NYMPHOMANIAC. The Danish filmmaker latest voyeuristic look at sexual liberation follows the life of Charlotte Gainsbourg’s self-diagnosed sex-addict Joe, who, after being saved from a beating, recounts her harrowing exploits to a lonely old man who came to her aid.
Shia LaBeouf, who has a habit of getting himself into HOLES, is busy with another in this latest risqué poster alongside Von Trier’s muse Gainsbourg. The film also stars Jamie Bell, Shia LaBeouf, Uma Thurman, Connie Nielsen, Christian Slater, Willem Dafoe, Mia Goth, Stacy Martin, Stellan Skarsgard, Nicolas Bro, Sophie Kennedy Clark, Jens Albinus and Udo Kier.
NYMPHOMANIAC: PART 1, which centres on Joe’s childhood and sexual adolescence will be available on video-on-demand on the 6th March 2014 and limited cinemas from the 21st March 2014. NYMPHOMANIAC: PART 2 again, which will look at her later life, will be made available on an earlier VOD platform on the 3rd April before that limited theatre run on the 18th April 2014.
The all-star film is set for cinemas in the UK from 7th March, although there is currently no word if this will be as the completed five-hour version or the first of two.
