The sudden and tragic death of actor Paul Walker has grounded the production on FAST & FURIOUS 7. Universal Pictures are currently mulling over ideas on how to move forward with the film and do justice to the late star. This means the seventh instalment of the franchise, currently slated for a release 11th July 2014,  is certain to be delayed. This has prompted 20th Century Fox to take advantage and have now moved their monkey-filled sci-fi sequel, DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES, up a week and into that same slot.

DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES is now set for cinemas 11th July and is directed by CLOVERFIELD’s Matt Reeves. It stars Jason Clarke, Keri Russell, Gary Oldman, Judy Greer, Toby Kebbell. Kodi Smit-McPhee and Andy Serkis, who reprises his motion-capture role of chief chimp Caesar.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
