Official Synopsis For ’22 Jump Street’ Revealed

Jonah Hill;Channing Tatum

Directing duo Phil Lord and Chris Miller have been striking gold recently with their CLOUDY WITH A CHANCE OF MEATBALLS series and last year’s 21 JUMP STREET. Now, for 2014, all attention must turn to their next films: THE LEGO MOVIE and undercover-cop sequel 22 JUMP STREET.

Now we’ve finally been given a look at what the sequel – featuring the return of Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill in the lead roles of Jenko and Schmidt respectively – will entail:

After making their way through high school (twice), big changes are in store for officers Schmidt (Jonah Hill) and Jenko (Channing Tatum) when they go deep undercover at a local college. But when Jenko meets a kindred spirit on the football team, and Schmidt infiltrates the bohemian art major scene, they begin to question their partnership. Now they don’t have to just crack the case – they have to figure out if they can have a mature relationship. If these two overgrown adolescents can grow from freshmen into real men, college might be the best thing that ever happened to them.

As the first film saw the pair go undercover in a high school, it seems only natural that their next move would be to go undercover at college. Right? Maybe for 23 JUMP STREET they’ll have to go undercover in an office to bust an illegal photocopying ring, or something.

Arguably one of the best parts about 21 JUMP STREET was the role reversal of Schmidt as the popular kid and Jenko as the ‘nerd’, as it were. With 22 JUMP STREET going back to basics and slotting the duo back into the roles they had when they were at high school, it’ll be interesting to see how the dynamic changes.

With such a talented pair of directors at the helm, though, expectations are pretty high for this one either way.

22 JUMP STREET stars Channing Tatum, Jonah Hill, Ice Cube, Amber Stevens, Jillian Bell and Chris Roberts. It’s due for release on 13th June, 2014.
