James McAvoy Talks ‘X-Men: Days Of Future Past’

20th Century Fox are banking alot of hope in their upcoming Marvel sequel, X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST, which is the company’s second highest costing production after James Cameron’s AVATAR. The sequel will bring together various different cast members from the original X-MEN trilogy and 2011’s X-MEN: FIRST CLASS, including Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Michael Fassbender and of course James McAvoy.

The film will use a narrative consisting of two different timelines that are united through Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine, who bridges the gap between the past and post-apocalyptic future. One of the most interesting elements of X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST is that audiences will see both young and old versions of Erik Lehnsherr/Magneto and Charles Xavier/Professor X. Now in recent interview, McAvoy has been talking about his role as Charles Xavier after reprising the part from X-MEN: FIRST CLASS. McAvoy also discusses sharing the part with Patrick Stewart (who portrays the older version of the character) and confirms that he is contractually obligated to reprise the role again. You can watch both of the interviews below:

At this point it seems almost definite that we will see McAvoy play Charles Xavier one more time for the recently announced X-MEN: APOCALYPSE, set for May 2016 with Bryan Singer (THE USUAL SUSPECTS, X-MEN, JACK THE GIANT SLAYER) once again at the helm. In the meantime, we still have X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST next May and I’m practically counting down the days until its release – which can’t come soon enough!
