We’d like to say we’re shocked over this casting news…but really, we couldn’t see a better match. It was announced yesterday that PITCH PERFECT’s very own Skylar Astin has booked a guest appearing role on Fox’s musical show GLEE.
Astin will be playing the role of Jean-Baptiste, the captain of New Directions competition for season five ‘Throat Explosion’. It is unclear how long the guest stint will run for, but if Darren Criss and Chord Overstreet’s Instagrams are anything to go, he is currently filming! His episode is expected to debut sometime in March.
It also seems that GLEE is slowly going through the original cast of SPRING AWAKENING, making it the second time they have used a Spring alumni in this season alone (the first being Phoebe Strole). We can only hope they bring back Jonathan Groff so GLEE can fulfil every Broadway fanboy and girl’s dream…
