The seventh film in the STAR WARS franchise we now know is due in December of 2015 with J.J. Abrams directing. We know that LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE screenwriter Michael Arndt was brought on to write the script. We also know that Abrams and Lawrence Kasdan are also reworking the script, but what we didn’t know is that Disney are still yet to see it. The Mouse House head honco Alan Horn presented at Variety’s dealmaker breakfast (whatever that is) today  stating the fact, while also letting go of another couple of newsy nuggets relating to the new STAR WARS sequel.

Horn said that he expected the budget for the film to be somewhere in the $200 million region and re-enforced that there will be a STAR WARS movie released every year from 2015, kicking off with Episode VII, and then a stand-alone spin-off movie in 2016, before Episode VIII in 2017, and so on.

A script is expected at the studio in January.

Horn also commented on the rumours of a fifth INDIANA JONES movie in the works now that the studio has full control over the future of the whip-cracking archaeologist. He said that they currently had no story, and the film would probably be at least two to three years away from release.

STAR WARS EPISODE VII will be released absolutely everywhere on 18th December, 2015.
